Awsome Awsome Awsome - The wait was worth it. The set list was right on.
I foregive Dave for a mind cramp during Dance the Nite Away as he foregot some of the words of which he let the entire arena know he screwed up but it was no big deal as we all filled in the lyrics for him. The song arangements were great. Example Someone Get Me a Doctor, they mixed in some licks from Humble Pie's I don't Need no Doctor, and Cream's Spoonfull, and a little bit of Led Zeplin too. There were so many ponit during the 2.5 hr show that made you smile and laugh as well. It is great to see our generation bring our kids to awsome show like this. It goes to show our gemeration of music has and will always pass trhe test of 100+ % of the time.
Who ever was the lucky person who received the autographed framed picture sitting in the pit could you post a digital picture for all to see. How cool was it the band to do that. VIP ticket purchaes does have nice perks :-)
I will post a reviww for the 10/18/07 show at the United Center as I will be in the house.

David Lee Roth should stay in Chicago and apply for the Circus that will be coming to town. Other than that Van Halen is #1.

Good show! the selection of songs were awesome! But Eddie’s solo was not good! Michael Anthony does make the difference is sound of the bass and the harmony of the songs, the performance lacked energy from DLR, Not sure who labeled him the front man of all time?? He and No interaction with the fans at all and does not have no musical talent to carry the label of best front man! Eddie’s son played the bass pretty good, but seemed out of place being on stage and interacting with the fans. It’s was nice to hear the old stuff, but highly doubt they will be doing a new cd with Roth and Wolfie, they couldn’t put a knock out blow to a new song!
Was at Rosemont last night to catch the show. Saw the show 28 years ago and of course the big hair is gone and alot of the big jumps but lets face it...it's about the music! Eddie never disapoints, loved the personal touch of the solo he did for Wolfie. Rehab, hip surgery & even cancer...Wow, he still has it! Alex rocked the house and Wolfgang, well let's just say it was evident that he was taught by the best. David Lee Roth was having a hard time remembering words to the songs and at a 1 point he just quit singing! The guys even quit playing. Never have seen that happen before, but of course Eddie jumped in saved the day. I was really looking forward to see them again after all these years but I have to say that Roth was a REAL disappointment! But lets face it, we are there for the music genius of the Van Halens who needs the front man?! Wish I could see them again tomarrow night..Thanks for an incredible evening guys!
Not sure what the rest of you were hearing but the acoustics were horrible at Allstate. You could barely hear DLR singing. Rumor has it that he still has a great voice. It's still a rumor to me because I couldn't tell until he sang his partial solo of Ice Cream Man. That was the best part of the show for me. The oversized props and Wolfgang walking up and down the ramp have to go.
