| Toby Keith delights fans in Virginia Beach By FRANK ROBERTS, The Virginian-Pilot One thing – no, two things – are certain about a Toby Keith concert. It will be very loud, and there will be lots of patriotic symbols. The latter, a salute to firefighters, lawmen, and the men and women of our armed forces, served as the encore Friday night at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater. The accompanying videos looked like something from CNN. Keith puts his money where his mouth is – spending 17 days with the troops every year. The tribute to servicemen is a regular part of his shows and particularly effective in this area. The other subjects of the night were women, whiskey, and weed. Check the titles: “Get Drunk And Be Somebody,” his current hit, “High Maintenance Woman, and “Whiskey Girl” which covered two of the subjects. “Weed With Willie,” featured Willie on film. With Toby Keith, you expect wild 'n wooly – and Friday’s concert certainly was. The 14,000 or so fans were screamingly delighted.. |
